The Canine Imprint Kit (Mold) is a complete odor imprinting system built around three concentration thresholds. All odor sources in the kit are loaded from DSMZ-authenticated mold cultures - the same internationally verified reference strains used across the Precision Explosives mold detection line. Real MVOC odor and no live cultures to manage!

Why Three Thresholds

Mold detection dogs don't work at a single concentration level in the field. The amount of MVOC reaching the dog's nose during a real inspection depends on how long the mold has been growing, what it's growing on, how well-ventilated the space is, and how far the dog is from the source. A dog trained on one concentration level may excel at strong-source problems and miss trace-level finds, or vice versa.

The kit addresses this by building the dog's odor picture across three distinct thresholds:

Regular Odor Print (20g equivalent): the primary imprinting source. High concentration establishes the odor picture clearly and quickly. This is where a new dog learns the target, and where you return to reinforce and proof throughout the training program.

Mini Odor Print (10g equivalent): the intermediate threshold. Once the dog is solid on the Regular print, the Mini teaches them to work at a lower concentration - a closer approximation of what a mid-distance find looks like in a real building.

TADD with Getxent Tube (2g equivalent): trace-level detection. The TADD delivers the Getxent Tube odor in a controlled, low-concentration presentation. At 2g equivalent, this is the format that develops a dog's ability to work a scent cone from a distance and follow it to source - the skill that matters most in a real inspection.

- Stachybotrys chartarum (DSM 12880): priority species for post-flood, water damage, and litigation-support inspection work

- Aspergillus fumigatus (DSM 819): HVAC systems, damp building materials, and indoor air quality assessment

- Penicillium chrysogenum (DSM 23825): among the most frequently recovered molds from water-damaged structures

- Cladosporium sphaerospermum (DSM 104846): prevalent in condensation zones, window frames, and cooling coil systems

- Alternaria alternata (DSM 1102): common early-stage indicator mold in beginning water intrusion events

Storage and Service Life

The kit ships in a plastic ammo can. Each odor source is stored in its own metallized Mylar envelope inside the can. The ammo can keeps everything organized, protected, and portable between training sessions and field deployments. Service life is approximately one year per odor source.
